Michele  Wiedemer added Storyline 2 to her toolbox in the summer of 2016.  Her expertise in both Authorware and Captivate transferred easily to the Storyline 2 interface. This page highlights projects and challenges to showcase her Storyline 2 expertise.

Timeline Interaction and Lightboxes

Picture
This sample includes some branching and a presentation of a step-by-step procedure as a timeline. Lightboxes are used for viewing an optional video, as well as for exiting the course.

Thanks to Matthew Guyan for posting a beautiful course starter, which I modified with different pictures and video, as well as simplifying to just one interaction. I had never included different player options, but this helped me learn how, as it had more on the player than I wanted.

Prototype From Template

Picture
This sample is another tab interaction, but is also an example of quickly creating a prototype using built-in templates. This sample shows the use of layers and state changes.

Short on time and appropriate images, I used PowerPoint icons to serve as placeholders for planning out the concept of the interaction.

Using Interactive Tables to Present Information in E-Learning
E-Learning Heroes Challenge #191

Picture
This challenge presented the opportunity to rework an interaction I'd done in Captivate.

This project provided medical training related to diagnosing specific conditions in the OB/GYN field. The learners need the opportunity to compare specific symptoms, signs, and diagnosis test results for three similar conditions. This interactive table allows them to compare specifics for each item by selecting the buttons on the left (learners are given audio cues to select buttons).

Tab Interaction

I created this tab interaction to show different content when the user clicks a different tab. Click here to view the sample.
Using a template like this can significantly reduce the development time for an interactive project.

Radio Button Interaction

Picture
Inspired by another designer's solution to the E-Learning Heroes weekly challenges, I created this sample radio button interaction. This simple interaction highlights research on how long it takes to create eLearning. Click here to view the sample.
